Fortunately there are ways of controlling aggressive dog behavior providing it hasn't got too out of hand.

When considering aggressive the first step should be to consult a professional in order to assess your dog's behavior, in some instances their can be medical reasons for your dogs aggressive behavior, a vet or behavior specialist can establish this. A good training course that specializes in dog behavior is another way to learn the causes of dog aggression and how to learn techniques to control your dog.

Some causes of dog aggression can be put down to the dog feeling anxious or scared, especially while out in public around other people or dogs there are techniques that can teach your dog to socialize, if this is your dogs particular problem.

When aggressive you must stay away from techniques that involve punishment and cruelty or hitting your dog, these forms of training are counterproductive and will only make your dog worse.
